Main activities or tasks
- Lead the staff of supervisors, technicians and assistants,
- Improve the procedure for troubleshooting equipments and vehicles,
- Record the observations and findings made during the diagnoses and decide on the correct procedure for repairs,
- Ensure that guarantees are strictly followed, monitored and documented,
- Follow the preventive maintenance system (PMS) and delegate the specific tasks to the technical section concerned,
- To actively supervise all workshop activities, especially technical ones,
- Plan and order spare parts for specific / special works or stock replenishment,
- Supervise and monitor the progress of the work,
- Participate at the training as well as coaching and mentoring technicians and assistants,
- Assist the workshop manager in the development of staff training plans,
- Implement the 5S and other QHSE standards at the workshop level,
- Participate on interviews and technical tests during recruitments,
- Evolve the annual evaluation of the performance of direct collaborators,
- Sign and validate employee time sheets,
- Support and in perfect agreement with the policies and procedures of the company and technical department,
- Perform any other tasks required by the direct supervisor.

Diploma
Mechanical or electromechanical engineering degree
Experience
Professional experience: at least 5 years’ experience in workshop management in heavy industry, in the repair and maintenance of heavy vehicles and vehicles or preferably in the port environment.
Competences & skills
- Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities
- Good experience and technical « field » knowledge
- Perfect computer skills (Microsoft office or similar applications)
- Excellent level in English (speaking and writing)
- Strong judgment based on experience and extensive practical knowledge
- Innovative, creative, able to appropriate and solve easily problems
- Able to manage conflict and providing solutions to differences of opinion
- Background in 5S and QHSE
- Able to exercise in an austere environment
- Open to changing, new ways of thinking and constructive criticism
- Inclusive, able to build a relationship and give orders in respect
- Able to guide a team
HSSE:
- Integrate HSSE objectives into their maintenance goals.
- Implement HSSE action plans for your entity.
- Enforce HSSE instructions, procedures, and instructions by personnel under your control.
- Make draft, approve and control compliance with HSSE operational procedures and instructions in your section.
- Pilot or participate in reporting and analysis of incidents if necessary.
